WEDDING, FASHION AND LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHER AND VIDEOGRAPHER

Let's talk about love

We’re Adriana and Paola, but everyone knows us as “the Monochrome,” wedding photographers and videographers.

Our chosen name comes from Greek, literally meaning “of one color”. It defines the unique tone that our two individualities create when blending together: a play of light and shadow with a Caravaggio-like flavor, through which we love expressing the depth and mystery of the feelings we capture in every photo and video.

Always experiment

It’s very important for me to experiment — not just with technique, but with the way I see and feel the world through my camera.

One of my favorite tools is an old automatic film camera. There’s something magical about shooting on film: the slowness, the unpredictability, the intimacy. It forces me to be present, to observe more carefully, to wait for the right moment rather than chase it.

The first time I ever used a film camera, I was thirteen, on a school trip to Venice in eighth grade. I had begged my parents to let me bring a little point-and-shoot, and I came back home with four full rolls of 36 exposures each — over 140 photos of canals, friends laughing, old facades, and sun reflections on water.

I still remember the look on my dad’s face — a mix of shock and amusement — when he saw how much I had spent developing all those photos. He gave me a good scolding, but I think deep down he was proud.

That trip didn’t just spark a curiosity — it lit a fire. It was the first time I felt the thrill of capturing something fleeting and making it last.

Even today, whether I’m photographing a wedding in Lake Como or a quiet moment during an elopement in Paris, I try to keep that same wonder. That sense of discovery. That teenage version of me who saw beauty everywhere and couldn’t wait to preserve it.

Because photography, for me, is still about that:

Looking closely. Feeling deeply. Creating slowly.

Simply storyteller

It all started with an old SD card.
It was tucked away in the back of a drawer, forgotten, dusty, one of those little things you don’t even remember holding on to.
Just a small SD card filled with blurry photos and random clips from years ago.
And then I found an audio file.
I opened it without thinking much… and suddenly, there she was: my grandmother’s voice.
Clear. Warm. Unmistakable.
In that instant, time stood still. I was back in her kitchen, the smell of coffee in the air, the soft clinking of a spoon in a cup, her gentle way of speaking.
Just a few words, but they held everything.
Her love. Her presence.
A voice I thought I had lost forever… waiting quietly in a forgotten corner of digital memory.
That moment changed something in me.
It made me realize that photos are powerful, but there’s something about video the movement, the voices, the living pulse of a memory, that captures emotion in a way nothing else can.
That’s why I tell stories through film.
Because the true magic of a memory lives in the way it feels.
Because the little moments, laughter, glances, quiet tears, deserve to be remembered as they were, alive and real.
When we film your wedding, we’re not just documenting a beautiful event.
We’re preserving the soul of it.
A living memory that will bring you right back, not just to how it looked, but how it felt.
And who knows… maybe someday, years from now, someone you love will find your film and feel it all over again.
